Two Days, Two Cities; Two Shows

Last week presented two opportunities to learn more about the challenges digital publishers face and how Crowdynews helps publishers keep readers on their website longer and increase engagement. The two events were located on opposite sides of the United States. The first venue was the Digital Innovation Summit in New York City, July 13 and 14. The second event was held in Mountain View, California at Samsung on Thursday, July 14.

The conference was a great opportunity for publishers to share experiences addressing important issues such as third party publishing channels as well as the monetization of digital sites & ad blockers. With close to 50 speakers packed into a little over a day and a half, there was an extraordinary amount of insight regarding digital best practices. Another hot topic was the meteoric rise in social media and how it is driving people to landing pages bypassing the homepage. Crowdynews’ ability to provide a “warm landing” for readers arriving to a publisher’s site from social media as well as the ability to increase site engagement was a perfect fit for publishers interested in enhancing the online social experience. As one attendee succinctly stated, “I’m so glad I came to the show, great content and solutions to help attract and retain readers.”

Sprockit is an organization dedicated to showcasing media and entertaining entrepreneurial companies, facilitating introductions industry broadcasting icons such as Cox Media Group, Fox Networks, Hearst, Samsung, TEGNA and Univision. By working closely with the best and brightest start-ups, industry giants are able to deliver innovative products and services to market faster. Crowdynews was invited to be a part of the class of 2016 start-ups earlier this year. We made our debut at the NAB show in Las Vegas where we were voted the Best Sprockit start-up.

Overall, it was a very productive week. We’re looking forward to continuing discussions started with a number of publishers at both events.
